The EXCLUSIVE Poyntz-Wright Interview!

This interview took place a couple of weeks ago in the house of the great man himself.

Poyntz-Wright page : Hello Tom, good to see you back in England again, good to be back from France?

Tom Poyntz-Wright : It certainly is I mean I do like France, and boy do the French women love me, however I miss England and my family when I am abroad.

PWP : Your new single is called Nuclear, what inspired you to write that?

Tom : I worry daily about the threat of war and I want more than anything to be able to use my fame and good looks to help wipe out this threat of war that seems to hang over our heads at the end of the 20th century. It seems mad to me that we are all looking forward to this brilliant new millenium when there are so many problems that need to be solved now. People are all excited and forgetting that problems such as poverty, war, famine etc are not going to magically disappear when the clock strikes twelve on the 31st December. I think it is up to me and other celebrities to highlight the problem we face, and I am hoping to do a charity gig at some point with some big names, but so far only Jason Orange has agreed.

PWP : Do you really think you can help?

Tom : Quite frankly if I can't help then who can?

PWP : Indeed. What are your feelings on the demise of the Poyntz-Wright Four?

Tom : Well, it was fun to start with but unfortunately I have just got too much on and I was finding it hard to fit the band into my schedule. The other lads may carry on as a trio, although I have warned them that without me they will probably struggle.

PWP : Hmmmmm. So what else is happening in your life right now, any acting roles?

Tom : Indeed, I have a new film out soon called 'Fisting The Gerbil', it is all about the pressures of growing up in Somerset during the late eighties and early nineties. I play the lead role, Andrew, a young man who is struggling to find his feet and is searching for that inevitable first shag.

PWP : Why 'Fisting The Gerbil'?

TOM : That was my idea, I thought it sounded good.

PWP : Fair enough.

PWP : The film also stars Cameron Diaz and Sarah Michelle Geller, what were they like to work with?

Tom : Difficult to tell you the truth, I think it was hard for them as neither has appeared in such a big production, or worked with such a big name as myself before. Also they were quite unprofessional in the way that they were both constantly trying to get me into bed!

PWP : Quite similar to the film in a way then?

Tom : Yes, as I said earlier the film is about growing up in Somerset, but the most important part of the film is the fact that my character must decide to which girl he loses his virginity, and boy that would be a hard decision.

PWP : So what roles do the girls play?

Tom : Well Sarah plays the role of Claire, Andrew's long term girlfriend, who feels that it is now the right time for them to have sex for the first time. Cameron plays a newcomer to the town, Katie, who Andrew falls madly in love with, thus he cannot decide whether to stay with Claire or to try his luck with Katie. Sounds good, but infact it's fantastic.

PWP : What would you have done in Andrew's position?

Tom : Same as most blokes would I think, porked both of them!!! Hahahaha.

PWP : Hmmmmm.

PWP : Any other films on the way?

Tom : Can I just say that Fisting The Gerbil is out in the summer, go and see it because I know you'll all love it! Right, I am working on a couple of films at the moment, however it is still very early and so I cannot really tell you anything about them.

PWP : Okay. Any news on the ladies front? Have you got over the split from your last partner yet?

Tom : Of course, as far as I'm concerned she was just for sex, unfortunately she wanted to see me during the day as well, so she had to go. I have no intention of getting together with anyone else in the near future, unless it is purely on a sexual basis of course!

PWP : Right that's about it, thanks for being here, good luck with the tour and with the film.

Tom : My pleasure.
